Mitsubishi Motors has confirmed that the all-new generation Pajero will be produced at its Thai plant, with a global launch planned for late 2026 or early 2027. The new model features a body-on-frame construction and will be built on the same production line as the Triton pickup truck, positioning it above the current Pajero Sport. Prototypes have undergone intensive off-road testing across multiple locations in Australia, and registration documents confirm it as a standalone, authentic Pajero model distinct from the Sport variant. Powering the standard version will be a 2.4-liter twin-turbo diesel engine producing 201 horsepower and 470 N·m of peak torque—directly targeting the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Additionally, Mitsubishi is evaluating the integration of a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) system to enhance overall performance. The vehicle remains in the pre-production validation phase, and specific details regarding configurations, pricing, and exact launch timing have not yet been announced.
