It is reported that Volkswagen will create a new position and hire a climate campaigner to challenge the company's environmental policies. This move is aimed at accelerating the transition to green and electrification. This position can report directly to Herbert Diess and other Volkswagen executives.

Volkswagen AG Chief Executive Officer Herbert Diess said: " I’m looking to hire an activist. We have so many ideas, but they take too long to implement in our big organization, so I need someone really aggressive internally.”

It is reported that according to Volkswagen's commitment to The Paris Agreement, it is planned that carbon dioxide emissions in the production process will be halved by 2025, and overall carbon neutrality will be achieved by 2050.

Volkswagen's electrification transformation is imminent. According to the plan, the Volkswagen brand plans to invest 19 billion euros in future technology research and development by 2024, of which 11 billion euros will be invested in electric vehicles. In 2020, 34 new vehicles will be launched worldwide, including 12 SUV models and 8 NEV models.
