It is reported that Tesla and Panasonic have reached a consensus that the two parties will end the solar cell cooperation relationship. Previously, Panasonic was the only lithium battery supplier and service provider at Tesla's US super factory, and the two parties had long-term cooperation.

As early as 2016, Tesla and Panasonic jointly established a solar cell joint venture. Panasonic also assumed part of the equipment costs of the Buffalo plant in New York, USA. Subsequently, the plant began to produce solar panel core components and solar cells in 2017.

Tesla already has new suppliers of power batteries. As early as the Q4 of 2019 earnings call, it mentioned that "LG Chem and CATL will become their new partners."

Panasonic has also found a new partner. In February 2020, Toyota and Panasonic announced that they would establish a joint venture to develop a new generation of power batteries. The new joint venture Toyota shares 51% and Panasonic 49%.
