At the China International Intelligent Industry Expo held on September 15-17, 2020, Geely Technology Group’s battery swap mode conference was held in Chongqing, and Geely Technology’s smart swap station also made its debut. It is understood that the power swap mode is the first to land in Chongqing Liangjiang New District, and it is planned to complete 35 power swap stations in Chongqing this year.

At this Smart Expo, Geely Technology Group exhibited a dual-storage smart swap station, covering an area of about 126 square meters, with 39 built-in charging locations. Vehicles can swap electricity in the station extremely quickly, and a single station can serve nearly 1,000 vehicles per day.

High safety performance is one of the characteristics of Geely Technology Group's smart swap station. The key components in the battery replacement system have undergone more than 16,000 endurance tests to ensure that the battery replacement system can reach a service life of more than ten years. In addition, the smart swap station adopts a highly compatible power swap platform modular architecture, which can be adapted to a variety of vehicle models. At the same time, the battery swap system also realizes the intelligent network connection of vehicles, stations, batteries, and cloud, and cooperates with the three-level fire protection system to make the battery swap safer and more efficient.

This year, the development of new energy vehicle swap stations was included in the government work report for the first time, which is a key area in new infrastructure projects. The power exchange mode can effectively solve the bottleneck of new energy development and promote the new energy industry to mature. Geely Technology Group has been thinking about the power exchange industry strategy for a long time. In 2017, it started to develop and develop new energy exchange models and technologies. In 3 years, it conducted a large number of market research and analysis. A total of more than 1,000 people participated in the research and development, and more than 3 thousand times of related experiments, and more than a thousand patents related to battery replacement.

Geely Technology Group will build 100 battery swap stations in Chongqing in 2021, and plan to complete more than 200 swap stations in 2023, turning Chongqing into a power swap demonstration city; with Chongqing as the center, it will simultaneously spread out across the country such as Zhejiang and Shandong , Covering all major cities, inter-provincial, and highway networks across the country. Up to now, Geely Technology Group has signed more than 1,000 battery swap stations nationwide.
