IIA learned that the last Volkswagen e-Golf officially rolled off the production line at the factory in Dresden, Germany. The car will be discontinued in the European market, and the Volkswagen ID.3 will be produced thereafter.

It is reported that the plant has produced a total of 50,401 Volkswagen e-Golf vehicles since March 2017. In the previous seven years, a total of 145,561 Volkswagen e-Golfs were produced in the Wolfsburg and Dresden plants.

Affected by COVID-19, Volkswagen ID.3 failed to go on the market as scheduled. The person in charge of Volkswagen’s Dresden plant said: “We are the second European manufacturer of vehicles based on a new modular electronic drive system after the Zwickau plant. Factory.” The factory will be transformed for a period of time to ensure the production of Volkswagen ID.3 in the future.
