IIA learned that the GAC Group will produce 2.035 million vehicles in 2020, an increase of 0.5%. Sales of cars were 2.044 million units, a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year, and the annual production and sales both exceeded 2 million. Among them, the production of GAC Group in December reached 221,000 vehicles, an increase of 4.1% year-on-year. The sales volume was 209,000 units, an increase of 12.4% year-on-year. Terminal sales in December were 234,000 vehicles, an increase of 18.8% year-on-year.

In 2020, the cumulative sales of 8 models under the GAC Group exceeded 1 million units. Specifically, the cumulative sales of the LEVIN series and ACCORD series exceeded 200,000 units, reaching 226,683 units and 210,574 units, respectively. Cumulative sales of the Camry series for the whole year of 185,140 units in 2020, 156,306 units of the BREEZE series, 150,363 units of the VEZEL, 127,108 units of the Trumpchi GS4 series, 113,736 units of the YARiS L family, and 113,379 units of the CRIDER series.

In terms of joint ventures, Guangqi Honda produced 84,047 vehicles in December, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%. The cumulative production for the whole year from January to December was 805,563 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%. Terminal sales in December were 98,037 units, an increase of 45.7% year-on-year. The terminal sales of 808,938 vehicles from January to December were up 5.7% year-on-year.

GAC Toyota sold 72,159 vehicles in December, a year-on-year increase of 24.9%. The sales volume from January to December was 765,008, a year-on-year increase of 12.2%. GAC Mitsubishi has achieved quarter-on-quarter growth for four consecutive months. In December, sales reached 10,981 vehicles, an increase of 21.9% from the previous month.

As for its own brands, GAC Trumpchi sold 31,464 vehicles in December, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year, and sales exceeded 30,000 for four consecutive months. In addition, in December, GAC Trumpchi’s MPV sales totaled 9,753 units, a year-on-year increase of 71.1%, of which the Trumpchi M8 increased by 55.7% year-on-year, and the M6 increased by 91.1% year-on-year.

In the NEV passenger car segment, sales from January to December reached 76,662 units, a year-on-year increase of 34.8%. Among them, the sales volume of NEV of its own brand was 60,915, a year-on-year increase of 44.3%. According to statistics, GAC Ian produced 7,435 vehicles in December, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%, and produced 60,066 vehicles from January to December, a year-on-year increase of 43%. Sales from January to December were 60,033 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 42.9%.

In 2020, GAC Trumpchi will accelerate the upgrade of smart manufacturing. In December, the two major projects of GAC Aisin Automatic Transmission Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Qisheng Powertrain Co., Ltd.'s second factory were completed and opened, which further improved the intelligent manufacturing system and supply chain system of GAC Trumpchi and provided the development of GAC's own brands a strong momentum and reliable guarantee.
