2026-02-05 11:43:00Due to production bottlenecks at battery supplier Automotive Cells Company (ACC) in manufacturing long-range batteries, deliveries of Stellantis Group’s all-electric models—including the Peugeot 3008 and 5008—have been delayed by up to eight months. According to informed sources, ACC’s current monthly output can support assembly of only about 1,000 vehicles, far below its original target. The company has brought in an expert team from China to improve yield rates and is considering cost-cutting measures at its French operations. ACC is a joint venture among Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, and TotalEnergies. Its French factory, which began production in 2023, is a key initiative in France’s push to develop a domestic battery industry. The current delivery delays coincide with new Stellantis CEO Jean-François Palacio’s comprehensive review of the company’s electric strategy, which has already led to the cancellation of several EV models and may result in scaled-back battery joint-venture plans. This situation also reflects the broader challenges Europe faces in building a local battery supply chain.
