Recently, BYD delivered the world’s first high-performance hypercar, the Yangwang U9X, to Mr. Pratarnwong Phornprapha, a private collector in Thailand. Limited to just 30 units globally, the Yangwang U9X set a new world record for production cars with a top speed of 496.22 km/h and achieved a lap time of 6 minutes 59.157 seconds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it the fastest production electric vehicle on the track—surpassing the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Porsche Taycan, and Tesla Model S Plaid. The vehicle features the world’s first mass-produced full-domain 1200V ultra-high-voltage platform and is equipped with four motors spinning at 30,000 rpm, delivering over 3,000 PS of combined horsepower and an exceptional power-to-weight ratio of 1,217 PS per tonne—placing its performance among the world’s elite. Although its official price has not been disclosed, the U9X has already sparked a global buying frenzy. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, personally presented the ownership certificate and a scale model of the car to the new owner.
