2026-04-09 15:06:09On April 8 local time, BYD held the European launch event for its premium brand Denza at the Opéra Garnier in Paris, officially unveiling two models: the Denza Z9 GT and the Denza D9. International movie star Daniel Craig was announced as Denza’s global brand ambassador. The Denza Z9 GT has already opened pre-orders on official websites in seven European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, with a starting pre-sale price of approximately €115,000. Positioned as a flagship tech-performance grand tourer, the Z9 GT is built on BYD’s Yi San Fang (Yi.S.F.) technology platform and offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The all-electric version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and features an independent rear-wheel steering system, enabling capabilities such as compass turn and crab-walk maneuvering in tight spaces. The Denza D9 DM-i is a flagship MPV offering a pure electric range of 210 km and a combined full-tank/full-battery driving range of up to 950 km. At the event, BYD also debuted its Flash Charging technology in Europe for the first time. Based on its second-generation Blade Battery, this technology delivers a peak charging power of 1,500 kW. Under normal ambient temperatures, the Denza Z9 GT equipped with this system can reach a usable state in just 5 minutes and achieve a full charge in 9 minutes. Even under extreme cold conditions of -30°C, the full charge time extends only to 12 minutes. In terms of sales channels, Denza plans to expand its presence to over 30 European countries by the end of 2026, establishing more than 150 retail stores. Regarding charging infrastructure, BYD aims to build 6,000 overseas Flash Charging stations globally, with 3,000 of them located across Europe.
