2026-05-11 12:56:00On May 11, 2024, Volvo Cars announced that Xiaolin Yuan has stepped down from his role as President and CEO of Greater China. After 16 years with Volvo Cars, Yuan has decided to step back from the company’s day-to-day operations to devote more time to his family. He will support management during a transition period to ensure a smooth handover. Jianjun Duan has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Volvo Cars Greater China, effective immediately. In this role, he will have full responsibility for end-to-end operations across the Greater China region, covering the entire value chain—including R&D, production, sales, and supply chain—as well as industrial and commercial operations. Duan also joins Volvo Cars’ Global Core Leadership Team and Global Sales Leadership Team and will report to the China Board. Yuan joined Volvo Cars in 2010 during Geely’s acquisition of the company, initially serving as Head of M&A. From 2017, he served as Senior Vice President of Volvo Car Group, President and CEO of Asia Pacific, and was a member of the Group’s Executive Management Team before transitioning to President and CEO of Greater China. Duan brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, having held senior management positions at luxury automotive brands in China, including Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
