In Q1 2026, China's new energy vehicle (NEV) electrification core components market exhibited a landscape characterized by consolidated leadership among top players, accelerated in-house R&D by automakers, and deepening vertical integration. Installation data across six key segments—traction batteries, battery packs, battery management systems (BMS), drive motors, multi-in-one main drive systems (for BEVs), and motor controllers—showed that domestic suppliers maintained a dominant position, while automakers’ self-manufactured component ecosystems continued to expand their influence. **Traction Batteries:** Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) led the market with an installed capacity of 42,084 MWh and a 44.0% market share. FinDreams Battery ranked second with 20,729 MWh and 21.7% share. LG Energy Solution secured third place with a 5.4% share, standing as the only foreign-invested company among the top ten. SVOLT Energy, Gotion High-Tech, Sunwoda, and Zhengli New Energy followed in fourth through seventh positions, each holding between 3.9% and 5.2% share. Great Wall Motor’s SVOLT Energy, JiYao Tongxing, and Ruipu Lanjun ranked eighth to tenth, all with shares below 3%. **Battery Packs:** FinDreams Battery topped the segment with 451,132 units installed and a 25.4% share, closely followed by CATL with 429,983 units and 24.2%. OEMs including Tesla, Leapmotor, and Changan Automobile entered the top ten with in-house developed battery packs, reflecting automakers’ growing emphasis on self-sufficiency in core components. **Battery Management Systems (BMS):** FinDreams Battery (451,437 units, 25.2%) and CATL (433,716 units, 24.2%) occupied the top two spots. Ligao Technologies, UAES, Tesla, and Leapmotor ranked third to sixth, respectively. Notably, BMS suppliers backed by automakers—including Tesla, Leapmotor, JiYao Tongxing, and SAIC Jieneng—collectively held a significant market share, underscoring the accelerating trend of in-house BMS development. **Drive Motors:** FinDreams Power led with 442,633 units and a 19.4% share. Xingqu Tech (197,670 units, 8.7%), Huawei Digital Power (167,248 units, 7.3%), Inovance Auto (159,690 units, 7.0%), NIO Power Tech (148,529 units, 6.5%), and Tesla (137,083 units, 6.0%) followed closely. Half of the top ten players were automaker-affiliated in-house developers, collectively accounting for nearly 50% of the market. **Multi-in-One Main Drive Systems (BEVs):** FinDreams Power ranked first with 181,750 units and a 16.7% share, trailed by Tesla (112,728 units, 10.4%) and Inovance Auto (88,230 units, 8.1%). NIO Power Tech, Li Auto Drive, and Grabo formed the second tier. The segment remained highly fragmented, indicating intense competition. **Motor Controllers:** FinDreams Power led with 442,684 units and a 19.4% share. Inovance Auto (208,843 units, 9.2%) and Huawei Digital Power (172,362 units, 7.6%) ranked second and third, respectively. Automaker-affiliated in-house developers—including Xingqu Tech, NIO Power Tech, Tesla, and Li Auto Drive—collectively captured over 50% of the market, highlighting a clear trend toward in-house development in motor control systems. Overall, China’s NEV electrification supply chain in Q1 2026 demonstrated a “dual-leader dominance, multi-tier competition, and rising in-house capabilities” dynamic. Market leaders sustained their advantage through technological prowess, scale, and vertical integration, while automakers further strengthened their control over core components through accelerated self-reliance.
