Recently, a fire broke out at a parking lot in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, severely damaging 20 new energy vehicles awaiting delivery. Due to the dense arrangement of parked vehicles, the fire spread rapidly. Bystanders immediately reported the incident to authorities upon discovery, and firefighters along with local police swiftly arrived on scene to extinguish the blaze, preventing any casualties. Investigations revealed that the fire was caused by a 74-year-old man who ignited poplar fluff accumulated by the roadside. Strong winds that day caused the fire to spiral out of control, subsequently igniting nearby vehicles. The elderly man has since been placed under criminal compulsory measures by police on suspicion of involuntary arson, and the case is under further investigation.
