Affected owners have already received a notification via the vehicle’s infotainment system confirming that no battery replacement or additional action is required, and that the issue does not affect the high-voltage battery operation or normal driving. BMW is actively working on a solution to prevent such false alerts from recurring. Owners who remain concerned about their battery status may visit the nearest authorized BMW dealer for a complimentary inspection. The "battery" referenced in the alert refers to the 12V auxiliary battery, which comes with a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
