Lexus has officially announced that production of its LC coupe and convertible models will cease entirely after the 2026 model year. The LC was first unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and entered mass production in 2017, offering two powertrain options: a 5.0-liter V8 engine (471 hp) and a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid system (354 hp). The hybrid variant sold only 251 units before being discontinued in 2025. Even in its best-selling year, 2021, the LC saw just 2,782 deliveries globally—a figure that has since dropped to fewer than 1,300 units annually. With Lexus now shifting its focus toward developing its new performance sports car, the GR GT, the discontinuation of the LC is now certain.
