With the surge of the domestic car parc, the car recalls due to vehicle safety hazards continue to rise. From JAN 1 TO JUNE 30, 2018, State Administration for Market Regulation has published 88 recall notices.
After analyzing all the relevant data together, INA found that around 4.92 million vehicles were recalled, 51% of which were Japanese vehicles, reached 2,488,223 units. The recall reasons include problems in airbags, steering assist, engine, brakes, front windshield, and wiper. Among them, 13 recalls were due to the airbag issue, a total of 1,378,033 vehicles. Here is the analysis of different types of vehicles recall and their proportion.
Japanese, German, American vehicles accounts for over 90%
By June 30, the recalled vehicles in China were mainly from Japan, Germany and America, a total of 88 times involving 16 brands. Japanese vehicles accounted for 51%, with a total of 2,488,223 units, German 27%, 1,305,179 units, American vehicles 13%, 639,103 units. And among others, the independent brands recalled 330,398 vehicles; Korean brands 107,302 vehicles; European brands 50,024 vehicles; French brands 3,822 vehicles. (Note: European vehicles are the European brands except German and French brands. )
By June 30, State Administration for Market Regulation had announced 88 recall notices for 20 safety hazards. Among them, there were: 29 recalls due to the airbag hazard, with a total of 1,337,783 units; 10 steering assistance hazard, 200,424 units; 7 engine hazard; 3 front windshield hazard; recalls due to the wiper, seat belt, door lock and gearbox hazard 2 times each; recalls due to the fuel leak, chassis, gauges and sunroofs hazard 1 time each.
