In response to the new energy vehicle promotion policy and meeting market demand, FAW-Volkswagen began to gradually upgrade the five production bases. IIA learned from the Foshan Municipal Bureau of Economics and Information Technology that the second phase of the technical transformation project of the FAW-Volkswagen Foshan production base has already undergone environmental acceptance, and the project has replaced the existing fuel vehicle production capacity with the electric vehicle production capacity. New electric vehicle production capacity: 20,000 units/year for the Golf A7 GP BEV and 15,000 units/year for the Audi X55 BEV. The total production capacity remains unchanged at 300,000 units/year.
The second phase of the FAW-Volkswagen Foshan Plant was laid in early May 2014. The total investment of the project is about 15.3 billion yuan and the construction period is 36 months. After the project is completed, it will have an annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles, including 110,000 X55 models, 150,000 Q11 models and 40,000 M77 models.
In 2015, the production line was rebuilt. After the transformation, the capacity of the X55 fuel version was reduced from 110,000 vehicles/year to 95,000 vehicles/year, which was reduced by 15,000 vehicles/year. The Q11 model capacity was reduced from 150,000 vehicles/year to 130,000 vehicles/ In the year, the capacity of the M77 model has remained unchanged at 40,000 units/year. The total production capacity remains unchanged at 300,000 units/year.
According to previous news, the Golf A7 GP BEV is the Volkswagen 7th generation e-Golf; the X55 BEV is the Audi Q2L e-tron, which was officially launched in May this year and is currently in the road test phase.
