The Sagitar, also named Jetta outside the Chinese market, is a compact car of FAW-Volkswagen. The new generation of it has been officially released and will hit the market in mid-March. On January 19, IIA received pictures of the new generation of the Sagitar from FAW-Volkswagen. The new car features the latest family design with a hexagonal banner grille. It will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof. In addition, its wheelbase is extended by 80mm to 2,731mm.

Exterior, the overall shape of the car is more sporty style. The front end is adopted with the latest hexagonal grille and connected to the headlights to extend the visual width of the vehicle. The lines on the hood which extend down to headlights, show a powerful appearance. The bottom of the new car bumper uses a large trapezoidal banner grille with fog lights embedded in the black panels on both sides. The side lines are smooth, stretchy and slender, and the sharp waistline extends to the taillights.

The rear design of the new car is highly layered, and the internal structure of the horizontally-mounted taillights on both sides is re-adjusted and the LED light source is added. There are long strips on both sides of the bumper. The bottom guards are made of different materials from the car body. The deluxe edition is equipped with double-sided two-exhaust rectangular exhaust manifolds on both sides.

At 4,753mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,462mm in height, the new car also has a 2731mm wheelbase. Compared to the current model, the length, width and height is extended by 98mm, 20mm, and 9mm, respectively. Also, 80mm is added to the wheelbase.

Interior, most part is covered by soft materials mated with a through-plated chrome trim to enhance the texture. The dual-bull dashboard behind the multi-function steering wheel is designed in a red backlight plus white font combination. In the middle, large-size touch screen adds piano-paint panels on both sides to highlight its high-end level. In addition, the new car also joined a panoramic sunroof design for the first time, providing a spacious and bright feel.

In terms of power, the new Sagitar will be powered by a DJS 1.4T turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 110kW. For the drive system, it matches the manual or dual clutch transmission.
