GAC NE Aion S, available for preorder in late February

GAC NE Aion S is based on GAC's second-generation pure electric platform and was officially unveiled at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show. In addition, GAC NE will also release an SUV with a wheelbase of more than 2900mm at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2019, and named as Aion X.

What kind of car is the GAC NE Aion S?

The front face of the new car is very edgy, and the T-shaped LED headlights are connected by chrome-plated decorative strips to create a stylish atmosphere. The large fog inlets on both sides of the fog light, combined with the lower ladder shape of the front bumper, make the front face dynamic.

The side lines of the body are very smooth, and the IMPULSE-shaped waistline with large-sized wheels creates a good sense of kineticism. The Aion S has a body size of 4768/1880/1530mm and a wheelbase of 2750mm. In addition, due to the streamlined body shape, the Aion S has a drag coefficient of only 0.245Cd.

The rear end adopts multiple fold lines design, which is pretty layered; the tail light uses LED light source and adopts an all-through design, which is in line with the current trend.

For the interior, please understand that the manufacturer has not requested to announce it. As far as we know that the interior will be equipped with two 12.3-inch LCD screens to create a technology feeling; the steering wheel will use a two-position steering wheel similar to the previous Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and the multi-function buttons are chrome-plated for further Improving the sense of luxury. In terms of power, the Aion S is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor and offers two adjustments with a maximum power of 135 kW and 150 kW. The new car will also be equipped with CATL's ternary lithium battery, with a 60Km/h constant-speed pure electric range of 630km and NEDC's comprehensive cruising range of 510km.

GAC NE will next launch a number of models based on the second-generation pure electric platform, including the Aion X, which will be unveiled at this year's Shanghai Auto Show. The new car is positioned in a large 5-seater SUV with a body length of over 4,700 mm and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. In addition, Aion X will be officially launched in September this year, and will not launch a 7-seat model in the future.

GAC NE's small SUV GE3 will also be included in the Aion series. The official has not yet clearly stated whether to change the name of the car in the future, but as can be seen from the current GAC NE product plan, the Aion series will cover sedan and SUV. More models will be introduced in the market segments to meet the diverse needs of consumers.
