A few days ago, IIA learned from FAW HONGQI officially that in the first quarter of 2019, HONGQI sold a total of 13,300 new cars, an increase of more than 780%. According to the plan, this year FAW HONGQI will also launch three new SUVs: the first pure electric SUV E-HS3, the new medium-sized SUV HS5 and the new mid-large SUV HS7, which will be available in April, May and July respectively.
In March 2019, FAW HONGQI achieved a new sales record, with orders exceeding 5,500 units and retail sales and wholesale volume reaching 5,300 units. From January to March, a total of 13,300 new vehicles were sold, an increase of over 780% year-on-year.
3 new SUVs will be launched.
The first pure electric SUV: E-HS3 will be launched in April.
In terms of appearance, HONGQI E-HS3 adopts a family design language. The large-size waterfall-shaped grille is chrome-plated. The integrated light unit and smooth lines create a modern look. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4490/1874/1613 mm, a wheelbase of 2,750 mm and a 5-seat layout.
In terms of power, the HONGQI E-HS3 will be equipped with two permanent magnet synchronous motors with a maximum power of 114 kW and a ternary lithium-ion battery with a cruising range of 390 km.
New mid-sized SUV: HS5 will be launched in May.
The design of the new car was inspired by the HONGQI U-Concept, and the red accents on the grille brought a sense of solemnity to the front. In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width and height of 4760/1907/1700 mm and a wheelbase of 2870 mm.
In terms of power, the new car will be powered by a 2.0T engine (CA4GC20TD-32) with a maximum power of 165 kW.
New mid-large SUV HS7 will be launched in July.
In terms of appearance, HONGQI HS7 adopts the family design language, the front face is the iconic large-size straight waterfall grille, 13 chrome trim strips are placed vertically, and the central part is painted red, which is very recognizable. The headlights adopt an irregularly shaped open-eye design, which is integrated with the grille and has a prominent visual effect after lighting. The fog light at the bottom bumper is surrounded by a swirling chrome-plated trim, which contributes to a luxury vibe.
In terms of power, HONGQI HS7 will be equipped with a 3.0T engine (CA6GV30TD) with a maximum power of 246 Kw.
