GAC sold nearly 157k units in April

GAC Group owns GAC passenger cars, GAC Honda, GAC Toyota, GAC Mitsubishi, GAC Fiat Chrysler and many other brands. A few days ago, IIA learned from the official GAC Group that the group released the production and sales report of April 2019. According to the data, the output of the company in April this year was 167,221 units, down 6.2% year-on-year; the sales volume was 156,718 units, down 4.6% year-on-year, but the three major Japanese joint venture brands all had increases.

Compared with the same period of last year, GAC Group's production and sales data in April this year has been reduced, but there is a certain increase in terminal sales. According to the data, GAC Group's cumulative terminal sales from January to April 2019 was 658,300 units, up 6.43% year-on-year; terminal sales in April were 166,800 units, up 7.41% year-on-year.

In terms of sales of various brands, the three major Japanese joint venture brands have made full efforts. Among them, GAC Honda sold 257,952 units from January to April, up 16.67% year-on-year, and sold 70,258 units in April, up 33.50% year-on-year; GAC Toyota sold 205,124 units from January to April, up 32.94% year-on-year; In April, GAC Toyota sold 43,300 units, up 0.37% year-on-year; GAC Mitsubishi sold 44,238 units from January to April, up 5.26% year-on-year; terminal sales volumes in April were 10,909 units, up 3.82% year-on-year.

In terms of independent brands and new energy brand, the terminal sales volume of GAC Trumpchi were 25,642 units, up 2.61% year on year. The sales of GAC NEW ENERGY in April were 1,794 units, up 78% year on year. 

The most of the products with sales growth are sedan and MPV. The sales of sedan have increased 19% year on year, with a total of 85,027 units. The sales of MPV have increased 32.4%, up to 9,428 units.
