Let's look at the market performance of Dongfeng's brands. In the passenger car segment, only Dongfeng Infiniti and Dongfeng Honda maintained positive growth in the first five months of this year. The latter's cumulative sales volume reached nearly 300,000 units, an increase of 11.89% year-on-year. The sales volume of Dongfeng Nissan exceeded 430,000 units, basically the same as that of the last year.
On the other hand, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile is still stuck in the quagmire. The accumulated sales in the first five months were only 530,000 units, which was 60.99% year-on-year. In May, the sum of the sales of the two sub-brands was less than 10,000. The performance of the young joint venture brand Dongfeng Renault was even worse. In May, the sales volume in the month was barely exceeded by 1,000 units. The cumulative sales volume from January to May was only 7,398 units, a sharp drop of 77.2% compared with the same period last year.
