#China will issue new OEM policies
It is reported that measures of OEM management in China's automotive enterprises may be introduced in June this year, which will put forward higher requirements for both sides of OEM, and will put forward restrictions on OEM in terms of R&D investment, production capacity and sales. Emerging automobile manufacturers may have more constraints in choosing OEM; the threshold will be greatly raised.
The current management methods on the Internet stipulated that enterprises choosing OEM must meet the following five conditions:
1. In the past three years, domestic R&D investment must reach at least 4 billion yuan;
2. In the past two years, the global sales of pure electric passenger vehicles must reach at least 15,000 units;
3. Valid period of OEM contracts must be at least three years, and the annual capacity of OEM at the same place must reach at least 50,000 units;
4. Enterprises must have up to billions of yuan in paid-in capital;
5. One enterprise can only choose two automobile companies as its OEMs.
At present, OEM has become the fastest way for emerging automobile manufacturers to obtain high-volume production. The introduction of this management method will help to standardize the industry and provide more explicit regulations for automobile OEM.
