BYD's pre-sale of the blade electric hatchback e2 has begun, with its pre-sale price of 100,000 to 130,000 yuan with subsidies. The e2 is to hit the market in the evening on Monday. The new car is powered by a motor with a maximum power of 70 kW and offers two versions of cruising range of 305-kilometer and 405-kilometer, IIA learned the news from BYD on Monday.
The exterior appearance of the e2 uses BYD's “Dragon Face” design element. The hexagonal large-format dot matrix grille is integrated with the narrow headlights, and the chrome trim is added to the upper edge to extend the visual width. The L-shaped air intake with exaggerated lines underneath makes the car sporty. In addition, the e2 offers six body colors.
In terms of body size, the BYD e2 has a length of 4,240 mm, a width of 1,760 mm and a height of 1,530 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. The combination of the sharp waistline on the side of the new car body is more youthful mated with the two-color body. The rear end of the car adopts the popular taillight strip, with large-sized spoiler and high-position brake lights, adding a layered feel to the whole vehicle.
The interior of the new car has a contrasting design that creates a dynamic and minimalist atmosphere. The center console is equipped with a 10.1-inch LCD screen and is installed a Dilink system which contains functions including voice control and navigation. The new car uses electronic knob shifting, and is equipped with electronic handbrake, LCD dashboard, one-button start, mobile phone wireless charging.
In terms of power, the e2 is powered by a motor with a maximum power of 70 kW which has a ternary lithium battery pack with a capacity of 35.2 kWh and 47.3 kWh. The NEDC cruising range is 305 km and 405 km respectively.
