The RAV4 is a compact SUV from Toyota. The new generation of models that have been officially released is built on the TNGA architecture. A FAW Toyota insider revealed to the IIA that the new RAV4 is expected to be available on October 25. The appearance of the new car adds a number of more sleek elements to the overall SUV. The SUV will be powered by a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine and a 2.5L hybrid system. In addition, the new car's wheelbase is 30 mm longer, which increases the rear legroom.
The front end of the new car has a sharp three-dimensional design. The large-size honeycomb grille is matched with the brand logo, making the new car more recognizable. The lamp sets on both sides are sharp and have a split design of full and low beam, which also mated with LED daytime running lights. The lower bumper has a rough shape and a circular fog lamp is embedded inside the air inlets on both sides. The big-mouth-shaped trapezoidal grille is equipped with a silvery guard on the bottom, which is extremely domineering.
The sharp waistline on the side of the new car is slightly raised, and the side apron and the wheel arch are equipped with black guards to create the style of the off-road vehicle. The tail design of the new generation of RAV4 is simple. The horizontal taillights are in irregular shape with a chrome trim in the middle.
In terms of body size, the new RAV4 has a length, width and height of 4595 mm, 1855 mm and 1660 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2690 mm. Although the length is shortened by 5 mm, the wheelbase is 30 mm longer, which adds more legroom at the rear seats.
The new car will be powered by a 2.5L petrol engine and a 2.5L hybrid system. The 2.5L engine has a maximum power of 154 kW mated with an 8-speed manual transmission. The 2.5L hybrid system has an engine with a maximum power of 160 kW and is matched to an E-CVT gearbox. In addition, the new RAV4 off-road version is also available with a selection of driving mode and four-wheel drive mode.
