When buying an electric car, everyone's biggest concern must be charging. Tesla's super charging station is good, but other brands are not compatible. It is reported that Porsche has established a super charging station in Leipzig, Germany. Not only can it provide charging services for Porsche models, other brands of electric vehicles can also come here to charge.

Of course, Porsche did this for a reason. The first electric vehicle, the Taycan, has a maximum charging voltage of 800V, which is not the voltage that ordinary charging stations can provide. While Porsche advertises Taycan's advanced technology, it also needs the synchronous support of charging technology.

It is reported that this super charging station of Porsche has a total capacity of 7000kW, including 18 350kW charging piles, of which 6 are dedicated to Porsche models, and 12 other brands of electric vehicles can also be used. This charging station will become the largest charging station in Europe.

Gerd Rupp, head of the management board of Porsche Leipzig, said that the charging station is located between highways 9, 14, and 38. It will further increase the charging facilities in central Germany, and four 22kW AC power charging stations will be built here. Regarding charging, as of the end of March 2020, all electric vehicle customers can try it for free, which means that it is not limited to only Porsche owners.

It is believed that the completion of this charging station can speed up the formulation of relevant high-voltage charging station standards and also play a certain reference role for the construction of charging stations in China. For example, this charging station has established a Porsche Customer Center. After charging, consumers can visit classic car shows and shop in stores. It is a good opportunity for product promotion.
