At present, it has been confirmed that the compact hatchback ID.3 BEV and the first SUV ID.4 BEV will be produced in China. The latter, which was unveiled on March 3, is a compact pure electric SUV built on Volkswagen's latest MEB platform. It is also expected to provide a four-wheel drive version with a maximum range of 500 kilometers.
According to the plan, by 2024, the Volkswagen brand will invest about 11 billion euros in electric mobility. The company has also set a strategic goal of reaching 1 million electric vehicles annually by the end of 2023. In China, the most important market in Volkswagen's NEV strategy, the 10 ID.
