GWM's global sales in July increased by 30% YoY

On August 9, Great Wall Motor (GWM) released its sales data for July 2020. In July, GWM’s sales at home and abroad were eye-catching, with a total of 78,339 vehicles sold, up 30% year-on-year. A total of 6,300 vehicles were exported in July, an increase of 75% from the previous month.

From the perspective of overall sales, GWM's global sales of 78,000 vehicles increased by 30% year-on-year. This is another outstanding achievement since the sales of 80,000 vehicles in June this year. It also indicates the strong recovery of the Chinese auto market in the late period of the epidemic.

Among the four major brands under GWM, Great Wall Pickup performed the most prominently, with a year-on-year increase of 156%.

Haval

Haval sold 47,517 vehicles in July, a year-on-year increase of 11%. Among them, the Haval H6 has sold 23,723 units, and has been the monthly sales champion of SUVs for 86 months. In July, 10,094 units of the Haval M6 SUV for high-value household use were sold, a year-on-year increase of 100%. The Haval F7 sold 8,157 units and continued to maintain a strong momentum.

WEY

WEY’s sales of 7,091 vehicles in July were up 25% month-on-month, maintaining a good growth momentum. The three models of VV5, VV6 and VV7 all achieved a month-on-month growth, of which VV7 increased by 52% from the previous month.

Great Wall Pickup

The growth of Great Wall Pickup is obvious, with sales of 20,661 units in July, an increase of 156% year-on-year, and a market share exceeding 50%. In July, the sales of Great Wall Pao exceeded 12,000 units, and the sales volume exceeded 10,000 units for three consecutive months, and it continued to be the sales champion of the pickup truck market.

Ora

Ora sold 3,064 vehicles in July, an increase of 48% year-on-year. At the same time, at this Chengdu Auto Show, Ora R1 was renamed Ora Black Cat. In July, the Ora Black Cat sold 2,771 vehicles, an increase of 65% year-on-year.


We can’t make a hasty conclusion about the future of GWM. However, as far as the author is concerned, the various brands of GWM are actively operating and cooperating with the group’s transformation to a global company. The results are decent. In the second half of the year GWM's sales results are still promising.
