China-based power battery provider Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) and the state-owned carmaker FAW Group have set up a joint venture dubbed CATL-FAW Power Battery Company (CFBC) in January 2019. The company settled in Xiapu of Fujian province in Southeastern China, with main business including new energy power battery production, sales, after-sales, and technical services, etc.
Relying on CATL’s industry-leading intelligent manufacturing systems and technical capabilities, as well as continuous innovation in equipment and technology, FAW’s production automation, intelligence and information technology can reach world-class levels. The production line has flexible production capacity, compatible with battery manufacturing with different chemical systems of ternary and lithium iron phosphate, and the production efficiency of the battery cell production line is world leading.
