BYD Sealion 05 DM New Model Filed: Fresh Design and Extended-Range Battery Variant Unveiled

According to the latest filing information from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), BYD has officially unveiled its new Sealion 05 DM. The vehicle adopts the same updated design language as the Sealion 05 EV, featuring a full-width LED light bar, an active shutter grille, and semi-recessed door handles. At the rear, it debuts redesigned taillights, a revised rear bumper, and a new spoiler, giving the car a more stylish and dynamic appearance overall. The Sealion 05 DM measures 4,620 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,630 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm—marking a noticeable adjustment compared to the current DM model. Powering the vehicle is a 1.5L plug-in hybrid system, combining a 74 kW internal combustion engine with a 120 kW electric motor. It will be offered with two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options: 18.3 kWh and 26.6 kWh, delivering pure-electric ranges of 102 km and 151/155 km, respectively. Additionally, the new model offers a range of optional features, including LiDAR, a panoramic glass roof, and various exterior and interior trim packages.
