Great Wall Motors Unveils "Guiyuan Platform" on Jan. 16, Enabling Multi-Powertrain Vehicles

Great Wall Motor will officially unveil its new "Guiyuan Platform" on January 16. The name "Guiyuan," which won a naming vote with 22,000 votes, signifies a return to the fundamentals of vehicle manufacturing—deconstructing core elements to meet diverse global mobility needs with the fewest components and minimal modifications. The platform's standout feature is its "one vehicle, multiple powertrains" capability, supporting five energy types: gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery-electric, and hydrogen fuel cell. It is specifically engineered for mid-to-large and luxury vehicles. Built on an 800V architecture, the Guiyuan Platform features an extra-large hybrid battery pack delivering over 400 km of pure electric range and is equipped with a dual 2.0T hybrid system capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in under 4 seconds. Great Wall Motor stated that the new platform will significantly enhance parts commonality, as well as production and logistics efficiency, while substantially reducing maintenance and ownership costs for users.
