Geely Galaxy's Rugged SUV to Launch This Year, Targeting UK Market to Challenge Land Rover Defender

Geely's all-new "tech-powered hardcore SUV," the Galaxy Warship, will make its global debut in China by the end of 2024 and is confirmed for launch in the UK market, directly competing against the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Built on the SEA-R platform—shared with the Zeekr 9X—the vehicle boasts formidable off-road capabilities, having already demonstrated exceptional performance during desert testing. The concept features active independent suspension, 800mm wading depth, steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire systems, and AI-assisted driving functions. The production version is expected to be powered by a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system paired with a 70kWh battery, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 354 km and standard all-wheel drive. Its design blends classic off-roader cues with premium luxury and family-friendly practicality.
