Just two months after its launch, the Qwen app has surpassed 100 million monthly active users on the consumer (C-end) side, with particularly rapid growth among students and white-collar professionals. Despite some competing platforms imposing traffic restrictions on it, these measures have failed to slow its swift expansion. The Qwen app is built upon Qwen, a globally leading open-source large language model, and is available across web and PC platforms as well. Led by Wu Jia, Vice President of Alibaba Group, the Qwen C-end business unit is working aggressively to position the app as the “super app” and preferred entry point for users in the AI era. Alibaba also plans to extend Qwen’s presence across multiple devices—including smart glasses, cars, and PCs—with the goal of making AI assistants ubiquitous and accessible to every everyday user. On the product front, Qwen is set to roll out a major update on January 15.
