On January 14, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) and Changan Automobile signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding on Deepening Strategic Partnership in Chongqing. The two parties will engage in extensive collaboration in cutting-edge fields such as battery-swapping mobility, intelligent automotive robots, flying cars, and embodied intelligence, aiming to advance technological application, market expansion, business model innovation, and overseas deployment. The agreement was signed by Zhao Fei, General Manager of Changan Automobile, and Han Wei, Co-President of CATL’s Market System, with Zheng Xiangdong, Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipality, Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan Automobile, and Zeng Yuqun, Chairman of CATL, attending the signing ceremony as witnesses. It is reported that Changan Automobile—approved by the State Council—is set to be officially established in 2025 as a new central state-owned automotive conglomerate. Its business spans whole vehicles, core auto components, and automotive finance, and it is actively investing in future-oriented industries representing new quality productive forces. This partnership aims to inject fresh momentum into the new energy vehicle industry and explore innovative cross-sector, cross-scenario collaborative models.
