Volvo will officially unveil its all-new electric SUV, the EX60, on January 21. The vehicle will debut with the "HuginCore" vehicle-wide computing system powered by Google's Gemini large language model. Integrated with hardware from Qualcomm and NVIDIA, the system supports natural language interaction and can execute complex commands such as extracting email addresses, assessing cargo space in the trunk, and planning travel itineraries. Future over-the-air (OTA) updates will further enable features like leveraging external cameras for environmental recognition. Volvo will also provide four years of complimentary data services for EX60 owners. Inside, the EX60 features a large vertical central touchscreen, likely an evolution of the interface first introduced in the EX90, with nearly all physical buttons eliminated—leaving only a single backlit multifunction scroll wheel. As the all-electric successor to the XC60, the EX60 holds significant importance for Volvo’s ongoing electric transformation.
