Hebei Province recently issued the "Work Plan for Further Accelerating the Enhancement of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Service Capacity," which specifies that by 2027, 1,200 new or upgraded "ultra-fast combined" charging points—each with a capacity of over 60 kilowatts—will be installed at highway service areas (including rest areas). Newly built highway service areas will be equipped with charging infrastructure simultaneously during construction, while existing sites will undergo accelerated upgrades, featuring denser layouts and high-power charging technology. Additionally, the plan encourages qualified gas (or hydrogen) stations to add fast-charging and battery-swapping facilities, transforming them into integrated "oil-gas-hydrogen-electricity" energy stations. Furthermore, the charging network will extend to rural roads to meet the needs of rural travel and self-driving tourism, and grid upgrades will be coordinated to strengthen charging reliability during peak periods such as the Spring Festival.
