Volkswagen's all-new all-electric compact SUV, the ID. Cross, was recently spotted undergoing winter testing, with its official debut expected in summer 2026. The test vehicle closely mirrors the design of the earlier concept car, though it features camouflage stickers on several areas—including the front "grille," fog lamp zones, and IQ. Light matrix LED headlights—as well as on the C-pillar, which conceals the distinctive scallop-shaped trim. The auxiliary roof lights are temporary additions for extreme cold-weather testing and will not appear on the production model. Built on the upgraded MEB+ platform, the ID. Cross is equipped with a new integrated electric motor featuring an advanced electronic management system, delivering a maximum output of 208 horsepower. It offers an estimated WLTP range of approximately 420 kilometers (261 miles). The interior retains the concept car’s flexible layout, providing a generous 450-liter trunk capacity, while the front seats can be fully folded flat to accommodate both cargo and relaxation needs.
