The Times Changan Power Battery Project was officially signed recently, with plans to build a 25 GWh new energy power battery production base in the Beibei sector of the Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area. Jointly advanced by CATL and Changan Automobile, this project marks the first landmark major initiative in Beibei District following its administrative adjustment and serves as a core platform for strengthening and completing industrial chains in the Gaozhu New Area—the nation’s first cross-provincial co-developed new area. Upon completion, the facility will significantly bolster Chongqing’s ambition to become the “Capital of Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles” and enhance the competitiveness of the new area’s leading industries. Both Beibei District and Guang’an City have pledged full support in optimizing the business environment and providing end-to-end services to foster industrial cluster development. To date, the new area has attracted nearly 200 enterprises, and this project’s establishment is regarded as a key step in implementing the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle dual-city strategy.
