On January 16, Huawei announced that the Qiankun Smart Driving ADS 4.1 will begin rolling out in phases starting January 20 and complete a large-scale update by January 30. The new version focuses on three key dimensions: safety, experience, and fun. In terms of safety, it introduces the eAES anti-pinch function to enhance all-scenario protection. In manual driving mode, it provides defensive assistance for scenarios such as sharp curves and intersections, and can automatically pull over and call for help if the driver becomes incapacitated. The system also features more accurate environmental prediction, improved lane-changing efficiency, and smarter interaction strategies. For added enjoyment, it debuts a convoy travel feature and introduces new themes including the "Navigator Badge" and "Childlike Dreams." Jin Yuzhi, CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, described ADS 4.1 as the best-performing version to date, enabling zero driver intervention during daily commutes. Huawei forecasts that Qiankun Smart Driving will be installed in 976,000 vehicles in 2025, exceeding 3 million units in 2026. The company also plans to launch ADS 5, HarmonyOS Cockpit 6, and its next-generation digital chassis XMC.
