On January 15, the "China Heart" 2026 Powertrain Day was held in Huishan District, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, marking the 20th anniversary of its development journey. Organized by *Automobile & Sport* magazine, the event unveiled the "Top 10 Engines and Hybrid Systems of 2025" and the "Top 10 New Energy Vehicle Powertrain Systems" lists. For the first time, the "Powertrain Foundation Award" was presented to nine automakers—including SAIC-GM, BYD, and Chery—that have each won more than 10 awards over the years. Experts noted that China's automotive powertrain industry has shifted from competing on specifications to being driven by scenario-based and intelligent solutions, with multiple technological pathways advancing in parallel. Additionally, 12 award-winning engines were donated to universities at the event to further support talent development in the automotive sector.
