On January 17, FAW-Volkswagen announced its latest personnel appointments: Wang Shengli has been appointed Deputy General Manager (Commercial) of the company, as well as Party Secretary and General Manager of FAW-Volkswagen Sales Co., Ltd.; Zhang Yan has been named Deputy Party Secretary and Head of the Labor Union; Wu Yingkai no longer holds these positions. Wang Shengli joined FAW-Volkswagen in 2002 and brings over 20 years of industry experience. He previously led regional marketing and brand operations, and after 2020, he moved to FAW Bestune and Hongqi, playing a key role in increasing Hongqi’s annual sales from 310,000 units to 412,000 units. His return to FAW-Volkswagen reunites him with General Manager Dong Xiuhui, who rejoined the company earlier—this pairing is widely seen as a “veteran comeback” duo. In 2025, FAW-Volkswagen became China’s first passenger vehicle manufacturer to reach a cumulative production and sales milestone of 30 million units, with annual sales exceeding 1.58 million vehicles. Industry insiders believe that the collaboration between Wang and Dong is expected to accelerate the company’s transformation toward electrification and intelligent mobility, helping it achieve its target of 2 million annual sales.
