On January 27, Chery's WELIN R08 EV all-electric pickup truck officially launched. The vehicle made its debut at last year’s Chengdu Auto Show, featuring a large octagonal front grille and split LED headlights. It measures 5,330 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,890 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,230 mm and a practical cargo bed volume. Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. All trims come standard with connected car services, OTA updates, and voice control functionality. The R08 EV also supports Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. The R08 EV is offered in two powertrain configurations: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive (RWD) version and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) variant. The RWD model delivers 150 kW of power and is available with either a 66.54 kWh or an 88 kWh battery pack, offering ranges of 405 km and 510 km, respectively. The AWD version produces a combined output of 300 kW and pairs with the 88 kWh battery, delivering a range of 505 km.
