On January 18, Qin Lihong, co-founder of NIO, revealed that the company’s all-new flagship SUV, the ES9, will hold its technology launch event on April 10 and is scheduled to officially go on sale in the second quarter of this year. NIO CEO William Li stated that the ES9 is poised to become the most competitive all-electric vehicle in its price segment. The ES9 has already been included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) 403rd batch of the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products.” The vehicle measures 5,365 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm and a top speed of 220 km/h. It is powered by dual motors—180 kW at the front and 340 kW at the rear—and equipped with 23-inch wide tires. The new model offers a range of personalized optional configurations and features CATL’s ternary lithium battery pack, supporting NIO’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model.
