In 2025, China's power battery industry experienced explosive growth, with annual production reaching 1,755.6 GWh and sales totaling 1,700.5 GWh. Of this, power battery sales amounted to 1,200.9 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 51.8%. Battery installations in vehicles reached 769.7 GWh, while exports hit 189.7 GWh—both figures reflecting significant growth. CATL and BYD continued to lead the market, together accounting for 65% of total vehicle installations, with shares of 43.42% and 21.58%, respectively. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries expanded aggressively, capturing over 81% of the domestic installation market share for the year and surpassing ternary batteries in export share for the first time. Second-tier players such as CALB, Gotion High-Tech, and EVE Energy accelerated their market breakthroughs, with some emerging companies reporting year-on-year installation growth exceeding 200%. Technologically, cell energy density reached 400 Wh/kg, fast-charging solutions entered mass application, and the proportion of high-energy-density models increased. The industry is now shifting from scale-driven competition toward comprehensive competition centered on technology, quality, and global reach.
