On January 14, a Hongqi S800 vehicle in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, began emitting smoke from the rear center armrest compartment and subsequently caught fire. On-site personnel quickly extinguished the flames. On January 19, Harmony Intelligent Mobility responded via its official Weibo account, stating that according to an investigation by local fire authorities, the fire was caused by a lighter that had fallen beneath the rear seat and ignited due to compression, ruling out any vehicle-related defects. The company stated it would assist the vehicle owner in properly handling all follow-up matters and urged the public not to believe or spread rumors. Earlier, a video posted by the vehicle owner showed the fire concentrated in the rear central control area.
