On January 20, Honda announced it will cease production of its current fuel cell system models at Fuel Cell System Manufacturing LLC, its joint venture with General Motors, by the end of 2026. Following this discontinuation, Honda will fully transition to its self-developed next-generation fuel cell system, leveraging this shift to expand its hydrogen-related business and pursue new market opportunities. This move marks Honda's accelerated push toward greater autonomy in its hydrogen energy technology roadmap, reducing reliance on partners and further advancing its hydrogen strategy.
