Recently, overseas media captured photos of the mid-cycle refresh prototype of the Mercedes-AMG SL undergoing winter testing. Although heavily camouflaged, the vehicle clearly features the brand’s signature three-pointed-star headlights, a larger front grille, and a redesigned front bumper, lip spoiler, and air intakes. The current-generation SL debuted in autumn 2021—nearly four years ago—and this update represents a standard mid-cycle refresh. Powertrain-wise, it is expected to retain the existing two powertrain options: a 416-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a plug-in hybrid V8 system delivering a combined output of 805 horsepower.
