To celebrate its 80th anniversary, a Toyota dealership in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, unveiled on January 21 a one-of-a-kind special edition hybrid model—the "Ichigo Crown" (Strawberry Crown)—available globally in only a single unit. Featuring a pink base color with a white gradient finish, the car is adorned with illustrations of Tochigi’s famous strawberries and a playful cartoon mascot, giving it a cheerful and whimsical appearance. The front fascia sports a large black vertical-slat grille and full-width LED headlights, creating a distinctive design statement. Under the hood, the Ichigo Crown is powered by a hybrid system combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 234 horsepower. It retains the classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and achieves an impressive WLTC-rated fuel consumption of just 4.36 L/100 km. The vehicle made its official debut on January 18 at the "Strawberry Kingdom Tochigi Day" event, where Tochigi Governor Tomikazu Fukuda attended the unveiling ceremony dressed as the "Strawberry King."
