On January 20, the first locally produced Wuling Bingo EV rolled off the assembly line at the Tan Chong Motor plant in Malaysia, marking it as the first Wuling model to enter mass production through local manufacturing in the country. Senior executives from SAIC-GM-Wuling and Tan Chong Motor Holdings attended the rollout ceremony. The vehicle has been specifically optimized for markets including Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Malaysia’s new energy vehicle (NEV) market is currently experiencing rapid growth, with battery-electric vehicle sales surging by over 200% year-on-year, and approximately 25% of consumers expressing interest in purchasing an electric vehicle. In 2025, SAIC-GM-Wuling achieved global sales of 1.635 million units, including more than 1 million NEVs. Its total exports reached 267,000 units, with NEV exports totaling 95,000 units—an impressive year-on-year increase of 128.6%.
