On January 22, BYD’s Legal Department announced that a court of first instance ruled that Douyin blogger “Da Qin Jun Shan Tuan” (real name Yao *qiang) fabricated and disseminated false information about the Fangcheng Bao brand, constituting commercial disparagement that severely damaged the reputation of both BYD and its Fangcheng Bao brand. The court ordered the blogger to pay BYD RMB 2.01 million in compensation. Previously, the blogger had posted content claiming that the Fangcheng Bao Bao 5 consumed 18 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers on highways, sparking controversy. BYD emphasized that while it welcomes public oversight, it firmly opposes online rumors, defamation, and other infringing acts, and will resolutely safeguard its rights through legal means.
