The NIO ES8 dominated the Zhejiang market in December, with 10,856 units sold across the province—marking a staggering 276% year-over-year increase. The ES8 ranked as the top-selling large SUV in Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Jinhua, Ningbo, and Shaoxing, achieving a market coverage rate of 77%. In the same month, combined sales of the all-new ES8 and the ONVO L90—two all-electric, three-row large SUVs—reached 3,484 units. NIO founder William Li attributed this outstanding performance to strong user support and the company’s comprehensive energy replenishment network. Zhejiang is home to the highest number of NIO battery swap stations nationwide; as of March 2025, it has achieved full “swap + charge” coverage across all mainland counties and districts (excluding Daishan and Shengsi). Additionally, NIO launched the 657-kilometer-long “Northern Zhejiang Power Scenic Route,” connecting multiple tourist destinations and featuring 14 battery swap stations and nine charging stations to meet winter self-driving energy needs. Technologically, the all-new ES8 is built on the same electronic architecture as the ET9 and is equipped with NIO’s self-developed Shengu NX9031 intelligent driving chip alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 chip. Supported by a full-domain 900V high-voltage platform, the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.97 seconds.
